Meet Emily
Hi, I'm Emily!
I've loved playing piano from a young age and have studied through the Trinity College London syllabus.
After spending a year in Canada, where I established my own small piano teaching studio, I'm excited to now be offering beginner piano lessons here in New Zealand.
My favourite part of teaching is helping beginners take those first steps at the piano. I believe that a good musical foundation matters, but that learning should also be encouraging, enjoyable and suited to the individual student. My lessons are relaxed and supportive, with a focus on developing good habits, musical understanding and confidence from the beginning.
I continue to develop my own playing and musical knowledge alongside my teaching. I am currently undertaking further practical study and working towards becoming a registered music teacher in New Zealand, with the aim of expanding the examination pathways I can offer students.
Most importantly, I want students to leave their lessons feeling encouraged and excited to keep playing. Whether a student eventually wants to work towards examinations, play their favourite music, or simply enjoy having music as part of their life, I hope to give them a positive and confident start to their piano journey.
I provide a supportive environment for beginners, offering flexible options to learn at your own pace and convenience.
